All of the greatest things invented came from the need of their own creators. It is as simple as that.

Take Elon Musk for example, he wanted to have clean energy transportation from his home to his place of work, and what did he do? He went on to create an electric car, which is a symbol of clean energy and the revival of the auto industry, and named it Tesla.

What about Apple’s creator Steve Jobs? Well, he had a clear vision and passion about what was

missing on the market and what he would use as an ordinary customer, so he decided to create it himself.

This list can go on and on, but the point is if one is pursuing to find a solution to a problem that is not solved yet and that will at the same time be beneficial for the creator as well as the customers, then one is on the right track.

Likewise, the GIMME FOOD app came to be.

I travel a lot. It is something that I love doing, exploring and experiencing. But what is exploring and experience actually?

Well, it is all about visiting new places, meeting new people, exploring new cultures, but it is also about trying out local cuisines. People tend to forget this when traveling, but it is a fact that we need to eat at least three times a day.

Somebody would probably say: “I’ll just eat at McDonald’s or Pizza Hut.” Well that may be good for you, but do you really want to go to India, Japan or Morocco and eat junk food? You can just stay at home and buy that from your local junk food supplier.

I truly believe that most people want to experience new flavors when traveling to a new destination. This is how our brain creates memories of something that was new and

felt good.

So I’ve been in this situation many times. I am ready to explore and I am hungry, but there is a problem. I always come across certain questions like: Where to eat? What to eat? What are the ingredients? What about the language barrier? Will it take me an eternity just to explain what I can and cannot eat?

There has to be a better solution to this.

I need to back up and say I have a selective diet. On Wednesdays and Fridays I have a diet

where I eat like a vegan, but I can also eat fish.

Therefore, whenever I need to eat something I need to go to a restaurant, wait for a waiter to come, explain to him what I can and cannot eat, then wait for him to check with the kitchen, followed by a bit more of explaining and if all goes well I can expect my food in about 20-30

minutes.

Add the initial explanation part and it sums up to around one hour spent in trying to get a meal. Then multiply that by 3 and you end up with 3 hours wasted just on getting the right meal. And that is if everything goes smoothly. Time that you want to use for exploring and experiencing new things…Wasted time.

I began to wonder. What about all the people in the world that have special diets, allergies, and maybe follow strict religious diets? Surely there is a solution to this ever-growing group of people?

Well it hasn’t existed until today.

You know how they say that great inventions came as an idea out of nowhere?

Well in my case it wasn’t out of nowhere, but it was definitely a specific moment where

everything summed up in my head and all of a sudden all of it had meaning.

What if I can help all these people who have special restrictive diets, save them a lot of time and at the same time create a new sales channel for the restaurants?

Voila! The GIMME FOOD app concept was born.

This is where the real thing begins. Everybody is welcome. Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the

ride!
